Human Resources in El Salvador

Job Overview:

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Creating a healthy process that missionaries can receive before going to the field or upon returning from field

  • Creating forms to assess the personalities and gifts of missionaries

  • Giving feedback on office efficiency in the Human Resources process and suggesting improvements

  • Participation in office meetings

Proposed weekly Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday:

    • 9:00 - Team devotions

    • 10:00 - Work starts at the base (different activities)

    • 12:30 - Lunch with the team

    • 1:30 - Work at the base or partner ministry (feeding, playing, and serving homeless community)

    • 5:00 – End of workday

  • Saturday: Day off OR possibly mobilization with an alternative day off for compensation

  • Sunday: possibly mobilization with an alternative day off for compensation OR attend a local church with a team member

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Must be a junior or senior in college

  • Human resource strategies

  • Able to create recruitment processes

Additional Info:

  • All interns must formally accept and abide by OM USA’s Statement of Faith for the duration of the internship

  • International internships are not paid positions and all financial needs should be covered with personal support

  • Home-stay with a national is dependent on circumstances

  • Pre-Field training happens through on-line materials and Skype sessions with coaches and other interns for a few weeks leading up departure date. Includes debriefing with coaches on return

  • Dates and duration of internships are flexible, should be worked out with the team

Qualifications of on-field supervisor:

  • Bachelors in Psychology

Accreditation:

  • Degree Credit available upon the approval of your university/college supervisors
