Business Development in El Salvador

Job Overview:

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Supporting with the strategy and promotion of the business

  • Social Media Strategy

  • Keeping well-organized files and records of business activity 

  • Using spreadsheets to track expenses and incomes

  • Giving feedback on office efficiency and suggesting possible improvements

  • Participating in office meetings

Proposed weekly Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday:

    • 9:00 - Team devotions

    • 10:00 - Work starts at the base (different activities)

    • 12:30 - Lunch with the team

    • 1:30 - Work at the base or partner ministry (feeding, playing, and serving homeless community)

    • 5:00 – End of workday

  • Saturday: Day off OR possibly mobilization with an alternative day off for compensation

  • Sunday: possibly mobilization with an alternative day off for compensation OR attend a local church with a team member.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Ability to speak/understand Spanish on a basic level.

  • Patient Teacher

  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills

  • Organizational and project management skills

Additional Info:

  • All interns must formally accept and abide by OM USA’s Statement of Faith for the duration of the internship.

  • International internships are not paid positions and all financial needs should be covered with personal support.

  • Home-stay with a national is dependent on circumstances.

  • Pre-Field training happens through on-line materials and Skype sessions with coaches and other interns for a few weeks leading up departure date. Includes debriefing with coaches on return.

  • Dates and duration of internships are flexible, should be worked out with the team. (suggested dates: 5/1-8/31)

Qualifications of on-field supervisor:

  • Long term missionary with significant experience overseeing projects.


  • Degree Credit available upon the approval of your university/college supervisors.
