Baseball/Softball in Hungary

Job Overview:

Bring your love for baseball/softball to Hungary and be involved in training, coaching and playing with OM’s Sportslink clubs as well as training with and playing with the Hungarian national team's baseball and softball players. See the many forms sports ministry can take in reaching people for the Kingdom.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • You would be working with coaches from the OM Sportslink baseball and softball club and the Hungarian Baseball and Softball Federation in training with and playing with Hungarian national team's baseball and softball players.

  • There will be different opportunities to help our club teams with training, coaching and playing.

  • You will have the opportunity to participate in the training and tournaments of the Hungarian Little League National teams.

  • There are also opportunities to help with field maintenance and other tournaments.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Love for baseball/softball

  • Desire to learn sports ministry and serve the Baseball and Softball ministry in Hungary.

Additional Info:

  • All interns must formally accept and abide by OM USA’s Statement of Faith for the duration of the internship.

  • International internships are not paid positions and all financial needs should be covered with personal support.

  • Home-stay with a national is dependent on circumstances.

  • Pre-Field training happens through on-line materials and Skype sessions with coaches and other interns for a few weeks leading up departure date. Includes debriefing with coaches on return.

  • Dates and duration of internships are flexible, should be worked out with the team.

Qualifications of on-field supervisor:

  • OM Hungary’s SportsLink Coordinator, Terry Lingenhoel, has been serving in Hungary for 25 years, the last 13 in sports ministry.

  • He has a Masters of ministry from Columbia International University.

  • He is the president and head coach of the Érd Baseball and Softball Club which consist of 8 teams, all league, from T-ball to adult baseball and softball, over 120 players.

  • He also serves as the Youth Development Officer for the Hungarian Baseball and Softball Association as well as Head Coach for the Little League All-Star teams for Hungary.

Accreditation:

  • Degree Credit available upon the approval of your university/college supervisors.
