Anti-Human Trafficking in Italy
OM Italia works alongside victims of sexual exploitation in the Pisa area with the goal of helping the victims exit a life in prostitution. The ministry has been active since 2016 with regular street outreach among Nigerian women and Brazilian transgender. The major part of activities focus on assisting the Nigerian women, where English can be used as a language. The team, consisting of the OM team leader and local volunteers, support the individuals through practical help, awareness raising, spiritual and psychological support with the aim of social and economic integration into the wider community.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Take part in street outreach on a weekly basis
Participate in the OM anti-trafficking team and prayer meetings (2-3 times a week)
Prepare materials/workshops with the goal of empowerment and encouragement
Upon need or possibility, help run skills based workshops regarding practical life skills such as budgeting and ICT skills
Assist in event organization
Depending on one's skills, interests and strengths, there are many opportunities to develop the ministry activities eg. through music, art, dance, sports or other creative methods.

Adaptability and flexibility
Heart for ministering to the marginalized
Openness to learn and develop the ministry further
Knowledge of Italian or Portuguese a benefit
All interns must formally accept and abide by OM USA’s Statement of Faith for the duration of the internship.
International internships are not paid positions and all financial needs should be covered with personal support.
Home-stay with a national is dependent on circumstances.
Pre-Field training happens through on-line materials and Skype sessions with coaches and other interns for a few weeks leading up departure date. Includes debriefing with coaches on return.
Dates and duration of internships are flexible, should be worked out with the team.
Qualifications of on-field supervisor:
A degree in social services
5 years experience in advocacy and NGO work in multicultural settings
Experience in leading the anti-trafficking work with OM Italy since 2016
One year of Bible education.
Degree Credit available upon the approval of your university/college supervisors.
